AirVentures School of Paragliding in Port Elizabeth

Paragliding is the recreational and competitive adventure sport of flying paragliders: lightweight, free-flying, foot-launched glider aircraft with non rigid primary structure. The pilot sits in a harness or lies supine in a cocoon-like 'pod' suspended below a fabric wing.

SA Defence Force Association

Military veterans should be acknowledged for their contribution to the development of the RSA – men and women that made sacrifices and served their Country with honor and dignity. People that have served their Country unselfishly and deserve to be recognized, remembered and be taken care of.

The South African Defence Force Association (SADFA) was established in February 2009 with the sole purpose to ensure this.

SAPS Mounted Unit

Mounted police are police who patrol on horseback. Their day-to-day function is typically picturesque or ceremonial, but they are also employed in crowd control because of their mobile mass and height advantage and increasingly for crime prevention and high visibility policing roles.

South African Air Force Museum

The Museum boasts a total of nine aircraft, including helicopters, a supersonic jet fighter, two of the world famous Harvard trainers among others, and the oldest surviving jet fighter in South Africa.

There are ongoing restoration projects by a team of dedicated enthusiasts, who are members of the Friends of the S.A.A.F.Museum. There is also a display of aircraft memorabilia, together with a fine collection of models and pictures in the main exhibition hall.
